The biggest market in the world of fresh products


-  A surface area of 232 hectares with more than 727,000 m² under cover, including 470,000 m² of buildings used for commercial purposes.

-  18 million European consumers are supplied from here, including 12 million within a radius of 150 km around Paris, i.e. one fifth of the French population.

For the Parisian region only Rungis represents :
· 50% of sea and river produce
· 45% of fruits and vegetables
· 35% of meat produces
· 50% of cut flowers and potted plants

-  The market achieved sales of 7,3 million euros (in 2003).
-  1,500,000 metric tons of incoming food produce in 2002, 32 million bunches of cut flowers and 19,4 million units of potted flowers.
-  A group of 1,400 companies including 700 wholesalers, brokers and import-export companies, 300 producers-sellers, 400 various companies that represents more than 12.000 jobs.
-  20.000 regular buyers come to Rungis : retailers, restaurateurs, wholesalers, import-export companies, GMS.
-  Four main entrances, 27 trough-roads recording on average troughflow of 26.000 vehicles per day, including 3.000 large tank-trucks.
